OnWednesday, July 6, 2011 a Seminar about Responsible Care ® Initiative was held at the Federation of Egyptian Industries Building, Cairo. Mr. Bernhard Their Responsible Care Manager, European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) presented the goals of Responsible Care ® Initiative as part of an agreement of understanding signed between the Chamber of Chemical Industries and the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic).
The seminar was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly , Chairman of the Chamber of Chemical Industries and in the presence of Eng. Mohamed F. Abdel Shafei, Deputy Chairman and Eng. Al-Sayed Younis, Chamber's board member Mr. Mohamed Aboharga, Chamber's executive Director, Eng. Ahmed Kamal, director of Environmental Compliance Office (ECO) and representatives of 12 companies from the major branches of the Egyptian Chemical Industries.

The Chamber of Chemical Industries organized "The First Egyptian Chemical Industries Conference - Towards a safe & clean chemical industry" on Tuesday May 11, 2010 at the Federation of Egyptian Industries auditorium, Cairo under the patronage of their excellencies:

The conference included presentations by Egyptian and international experts on the chemical industries in Egypt and the world from the environmental point of view and the negative and positive impacts on the environment and the requirements of compatibility with the EU REACH system.
The chamber honored some of pioneer businessmen in the Egyptian chemical industries. A documentary film about the chemical industries in Egypt and its development and progress was presented.
The conference was attended by more than 350 representatives of the chemical industries companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations all over Egypt to get more information about the latest achievements on how to have a safe & clean chemical industry in Egypt and all over the world.

The Chamber is preparing for "The First Egyptian Chemical Industries Conference - Towards a safe & clean chemical industry" in May 11, 2010. The conference will include lectures by Egyptian and international experts on the chemical industries in Egypt and the world. The negative and positive impacts on the environment and the requirements of compatibility with the EU REACH system. It will be also discussed the honoring of Egyptian chemical industries pioneers businessmen. A documentary film about the chemical industries in Egypt will be presented.

Eng. Mohamed Fikry F. Abdel Shafei, Deputy Chairman, Head of Detergents Division has announced the launching of "The Egyptian Initiative for Environmental Sustainability in Detergents". The press conference was attended by Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly, Chairman of Chamber of Chemical Industries on behalf of Mr. Galal El-Zorba, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Mr. Mr. Mahmoud Shawky General manager of Environmental Impact Assessment of Industrial Projects Dept. on behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs and Mr. Binolo Fontanary representative of the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products (A.I.S.E).
The objective of this project is to continue to delivering significant sustainability benefits by advising the consumers to the right amount when using ‘compact’ laundry detergents.
