Opening of the Permanent Center of the Egyptian Products Marketing in Khartoum, Sudan is expected to be in 2010.
The Plastic Division at the Chamber in cooperation with The Chemical & Fertilizers Export Council established The Permanent Center of the Egyptian Products Marketing at Khartoum, Sudan. The center is located in Al-Steen St. in Khartoum (the most important commercial area in Sudan). The official opening is expected to be in 2010. The Chamber aims to promote the Egyptian chemical products in Sudan and open new markets for Egyptian chemical products in East Africa.

Advanced Packaging Materials Workshop

The German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in cooperation with Chamber of Chemical Industries - Plastics Division, Environmental Compliance Office and Chamber of Food Industries will organize a workshop on 15/12 / 2009 about Biodegradable Plastics and Degradable Plastics.
Experts from UMSICHT Institute and the British Council of Retail Stores will give two lectures.

The Chamber participated in "Egypt - Zhejiang (China) Conference on Investment and Trade Opportunities" in Zhejiang Province, China

Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly Chairman of the Chamber presented a working paper on investment opportunities in the Egyptian Chemical Industries within the framework of the activities of " Egypt - Zhejiang (China) Conference on Investment and Trade Opportunities" in Zhejiang Province, China. The conference was opened on 9/9/2009 by Dr. Mahmoud Moheddin, Egyptian Minister of Investment, Mr. Wan J F, chairman of China Council for Promotion and International Trade, in the presence of Ambassador Ahmed Rizk, Egypt's ambassador in China. A number of companies and organizations and representatives of some ministries, and representatives of COMESA.
Also attended th occasion, the delegation accompanying Dr. Mahmoud Moheddin, Egyptian Minister of Investment included Mrs. Neveen Shafei, vice chairman of the General Authority for Investment (GAFI), Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly Chairman of Chamber of Chemical Industries and MRS. Heba Salama, Director of COMESA Dept. and Mr. Ahmed Amin, Vice President of Public Authority of the Northwest Suez Gulf.
The President of the China Council for Promotion of International Trade and the Chinese side is willing to increase Chinese investments in Egypt, pointed out the great development witnessed by the investment climate in Egypt during the last period, especially in infrastructure projects. He also indicated the participation of 300 companies in China and Africa Investment Forum to be held in November in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt & Africa
